crossed off the wedding 'to do' list!

Got my wedding band yesterday! Finally tracked down the matching platinum band for my engagement ring. Feels good to have found it's match, since it has been almost three years since Jamie propsed, so I had almost given up hope that I would find it's pair. It did manage to be 400$ over what I had originally budgeted for my band, but it was on sale--- 300 dollars off-- so I'm really only over 100 hundred dollars over budget. Between that and my shopping spree over the weekend I got to start putting a bit of money away each check for an unseen wedding emergencies.

Did I forget to mention that I finally got some ribbon for my invitations?? Micheal's happened to have the exact ribbon that I had wanted, so I snatched that up on the weekend. I already had some ribbon being shipped to me, but I figured I would get that other stuff 'just in case'. It's a good thing I did though, because that other ribbon came yesterday and it is too wide!! LOL!! But that is okay, I will use it to tie around my caramel apples for the wedding favors. So the invitations are officially underway!! I have about 15 or so completed. Just gotta finish putting the ribbon on, make my rsvp cards, and get them out there!! Planning on sending them out somewhere around the first week of July.

In other news....my grandpere (godin) was admitted to the hospital yesterday. On Monday his sugar was up really high, so he had 3 insulin shots at the hospital, and the same thing happend on Tuesday. So, yesterday morning it was up yet again, so he was admitted so they can get his sugar regulated. Thinking of you pere!!

zonked out!

It's been awhile since I posted hasn't it?

Busy weekend! Took friday night and Saturday off--my parents and I headed down to Moncton for my brother Corey's graduation from NBCC. The ceremony was LONG! Most of my pics came out pretty bad!! LOL!! The lighting was pretty horrible inside of the area.

Aside from the graduation we got my dad a spiffy new suit & shoes for the wedding. He looked so handsome trying it on! Did I mention that he started eating healthier and walking a lot? So far he has lost 21 pounds. My mom did the same is lost about 10-15 pounds.

Dad left Moncton Saturday afternoon. Mom and I stayed down so we could get some shopping in! Of course. Can't go to Moncton without shopping. I was obsessed with finding this cute shirt that I saw I girl wearing on Saturday, but could not find it! I did however manage to get a pair of jeans, a pair of jean capris, a pair of gauchos, t-shirt, tank, and another shirt, so I did not too bad in the clothes department. Also got two books, two black leather 12x12 scrapbooks, and of course baby stuff! Nothing is cuter than baby clothes, so now that Amy is preggo I have a perfect excuse to buy, buy, buy! So fun.

I also managed to get a few bridesmaids gifts. And some ribbon and misc. stuff for the wedding. I ordered some ribbon online for my wedding invites, but ended up finding some yesterday at Michaels, so I bought that too, just in case something happens to that other ribbon.

Got home just in time last night to go to Lindsay's grad dinner. Stayed there until around 8 or so.

Whew! Busy weekend!

Sorry to ramble on there forever, I don't think I have a serious organzied thought in my brain!

I have today off though, so that is pretty cool.

Got some new shelves for our bedroom, really lovin' them.

Finally heard back from my wedding planner.

He found someone to make my cake! YAY!! I don't know if it's because of the cake design I requested or because we are getting married over the long weekend, but apparently no one wanted to make it!

But, he found a lady and she gave him a price of 250$, but I still don't know how much it is going to cost for his services, still waiting to find that out. I have a set budget for him, so I hope he doesn't quote over what I have.

Two more pounds gone, making that 14 in total and I am 6 pounds away from my wedding goal.

To celebrate I would like to go to Jana's, where we will share a party pizza with pepperoni, extra cheese, a slice of chocolate eruption cake and a napolean dynamite dvd, hahaha. I bet that would pack on a few pounds, but it just might be worth it.

She is hanging in....

Little update on Baby Hope. The information I am getting is passed on from my cousin daryl to his sister who tells my grandmere, who tells my mom, so I hope I have the correct info.

Little Hope is hanging in. Her operation was to repair 3 pin pricks in her bowels that caused an E Coli infection and swelling. She had another operation last night, I'm not quite sure what they did last night though. I do know that the infection is still there. All other functioning (lungs, heart, brain) is perfect. But doctors say that have pretty much done what there is to do. She is in God's hands now.

I walked over 14 km's today!! I am nutso. Went for a 6km walk this morning, then walked to work this afternoon, a bit over 2kms, then mom and I went for a 6km walk tonight after work.

Yea, I hope I can move tomorrow, lol!

My guest book came in today!! It's pretty! I will post a pic tomorrow!!

Wedding stress...

The closer the wedding gets, the less it seems I am crossing things off of my list. Actually it seems to be mounting. And when I really think about it, I kinda have a mini heart attack and can't breathe.

I don't think that is good at all. lol.

So much to get done, so little time or hands or brain power, or bitchyness power. I need some bitchyness/bridezilla action going on so I can yell at a certain someone. Grr!

So here are some pending things on my list....

-wedding dress, still not here, freaking out a bit. Can't decide on jewelry, headpiece and/or veil and hair style until that arrives.
-Jana's moh dress, arrived 4 inches too short. I know it will be here in time, just wish we could have it now, so no worrying.
-Jamie and groomsmen-tux fitting
-engagement pics (taking them next month!)
-bridal shower. Gotta help mom plan. Most likely being held July 23rd. Just a small gathering.
-hair cut, I need one bad. No idea where to go. Want to get done before engagement pics.
-wedding bands. None yet. But I got a lead and might be able to get a perfect match custom made to my engagement ring.
-attendant gifts---zero progress there, I just can't make up my mind.
-invitations, went to the fabric store yesterday to get the ribbon that I ordered, but oh, it's not there and they don't know when it is coming in! So I ordered some online last night. I have no idea what it looks like or when it will get here. Have to send out my invite's by mid-july.
-bridal shower invites--I need some.
-Guest list---have to cut DOWN.
-weight, 8 more pounds to go! Haven't weighed myself lately but my jeans could be pulled down still zippered! YAY
-need to find and make hair style and make up appointments for day of wedding for me and any of the girls.
-need to get a facial
-ask jana where she wants to go to get our nails done before the wedding and make appointment.
-decide on where we are going for our un-official honeymoon and make reservations and plan outings.
-GET SOMETHING OUT OF MY WEDDING PLANNER!
-start tanning
-find something to wear to bridal shower and for the rehersal party
-get lingerie
-find someone to sing or play guitar during service
-make appointment with father david to discuss service

Big prayers for a little girl....

My cousin Daryl & his wife Nancy had their baby girl last week. She was about a month premature. She developed an infection and was sent to the IWK hospital where she had a bowel infection. They are unsure if she will make it or not. Please say a prayer for her!!

I have been looking for it forever now, and finally found some up for bid. Sweet!! I am taking on a new hobby and going to try and make a quilt. I can't wait until it comes in.

These were the invitations this morning. I just finished putting the white paper onto the chocolate brown a few minutes ago. Whew, glad that is over with!

Cut out all of my orange strips of cardstock tonight too. After I get my ribbon, I will adhere that to the orange pieces and then stick that onto the chocolate brown and voila! Finished!!

Right now I am off searching for my guest book album...

And it only cost me a dollar!

My whopping garage sale purchase total! But I got this cute jar.

I did see this awesome hamper basket, it looked brand new, and the basket weave on it rocked. But this lady snatched it up when my hand was two inches away! Grrr.

I wish there was a cool flea market type place around here to go too, that would be cool. Went to an antique shop yesterday, but it's always a disappointment there.

Went to see The Break Up last night. So funny. Vince Vaughan is a riot, I love any movie he makes. He is a favorite of mine lately. I'm a little iffy on the ending, but the rest of the movie was A-1!

My butt is killing me this morning. Changed my walking route and went on a nice 6km trek! I'm either going to go to the same route tonight, but for 8kms instead, or walk on the highway. Better charge up that ipod!

Walking is good especially since I had the ever so yummy chocolate hazelnut spread on my toast this morning!

I HATE!!!

FLIES!!

Friggin' buggers. They are driving me bonkers, and I'm not even outside putting up with them! They sneak inside and bite me. I don't just get normal bites either, I swell right up, bigger than a quarter and it hurts. Or I get a lump plus about 30 little lumps that itch really bad. I just got bit on my thigh and have a ton of bumps. Yuck. I hate the flies.

In other news, did anyone see the sunset tonight? It looked magical, from what I could see over the tree tops at work. I bet it was killer at the beach, I hate missing a good sunset!! None that I have seen so far have been killer.

Getting up at 7am tomorrow to go to the HUGE indoor garage sale! I can't wait! Haven't been there in a few years, and even then I had just taken my mom down and wasn't really interested in garage sales, but tomorrow my eyes will be peeled for something ultra cool!

Poor Simply Doodle....

The vet was down yesterday to check up on Simply. He has had a bad cough for a few days.

Diagnosis: COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), or the heaves, or basically asthma.

Poor Simply!

His treatment is lifelong--meds 3 times a day, his hay has to be soaked in water for a few hours before feeding to cut down on dust. We also can not feed him in the barn anymore, which sucks because Dad would feed him in there when they flies got too bad outside. If the flies annoy him too much he will hide in the barn, instead of eating outside.

I went for a walk last night after work, and when I got back at 11, I went up to see him and you know what he was doing??

Craning his neck as far under the fence as it would go to reach the big bucket of hay that dad was soaking for him for his morning feeding. What a bugger!
